Daniel's prophesies for the 21st century

One could make a compelling argument for the statements: "Daniel had more insight into 21st century affairs than some modern day commentators" and "Some prophesies were translated more accurately in the King James bible than translations made almost 400 years later".

The 3rd and 4th verses of the 12th chapter of the book of Daniel according to the King James translation read as follows:

Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament,
and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars for ever and ever.

But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end:
many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.

I am not a "King James junkie" who prefers that version of the Bible over more modern ones. However, it is strange that the last two phrases are translated differently in "Today's English Version" and in the Afrikaans bibles. Most other English translations convey a meaning similar to the King James.

It is hardly possible to describe the modern tourism industry and the knowledge explosion more economically than by the phrases "many shall run to and fro" and "knowledge shall increase". In my opinion the phrase "those who turn many to righteousness" implies large scale evangelism. If not, then what does it mean?
